A New Season, A New Story: Life Lately & What’s Been On My Heart

It’s been a minute since I’ve written a new blog post, and that’s because life has been taking me through a transition that feels…entirely different from any I’ve experienced before.

In July, I was laid off from my job — something I didn’t fully expect, especially considering how well I was performing. But like so many people this year, I learned quickly that no level of experience or excellence can outrun the shifts happening in the economy.

And while I’ve navigated transitions before, this one hit differently.

Then something unexpected happened: in August, the same company brought me back, part-time, but in a new role that pays a bit more than I made full-time. More importantly, this role has opened doors I never would have been invited through otherwise.

I’ve been flown out for trunk shows.

I’ve styled women across multiple cities.

And next week, I’ll be in San Francisco for the next one.

I’m grateful — truly.

But I’m also human.

Because even with the opportunities, I’ve still felt the weight of business shifting. I’ve felt the strain of financial ups and downs. I’ve sat with the emotions that come with being grateful, excited, and faithful… yet also confused, overwhelmed, and unsure.

Transitions have a way of doing that — stretching us in opposite directions.

Still, I believe that God never allows a transition without purpose. Some seasons come to shift your mindset. Others come to break patterns. And sometimes, transitions come to redirect you in a way you never would’ve chosen for yourself.

This one feels like that.

It has stretched me.

It has softened me.

It has pushed me to show up differently.

Instead of withdrawing, I’ve felt led to share more of my truth. Instead of hiding the hard parts, I’ve decided to be more open about what I’m navigating. I never want anyone reading this to think they’re the only one going through something — because I promise you, you’re not.

People selectively share what they want others to see. I’m choosing to share what’s real.

Thank you for being here, for reading, and for being part of this journey with me. More stories, lessons, fashion, faith, and life content is coming your way.
